Purpose

The aim of the 2008 International Conference on Business, Technology, and Public Policy is to provide a forum for the academic study of business, technology, and public policy. The conference will welcome submissions from scholars, technocrats, businesspeople, entrepreneurs, policy makers, and other practitioners on any aspect in the field of business, technology, and public policy. It is also a goal of the conference to foster inspiration, skills, ideas, and enjoyment.

  • Please note that your submission is not limited to the above-mentioned topics and cross-disciplinary works are highly encouraged.
  • Deadline for submission of abstracts is September 15, 2008 and letters of acceptance will be issued by September 20, 2008. Early submissions will be appreciated.
  • Final papers should be formatted according to the APA style and submitted by October 10, 2008.
  • All papers should be submitted by email to Dr. Jude D. Edwards, Director of Conferences at the Institute for Research on Global Business (IRGB). The email address is conference@irgbusiness.com.

    Who should attend?

    The conference, aimed at a range of academics, business practitioners, researchers, graduate students, and other business stakeholders will bring together an international interdisciplinary audience in order to share knowledge and experience.

    Faculty: Anyone interested in the following teaching areas should attend: Accounting, business and organizational communication, business education, business ethics, business law, case studies related to business, computer information systems, decision sciences, economics, entrepreneurship, finance, human resource management, international business, leadership issues, management, management information systems, marketing, public administration, taxes, teaching (all areas of business), cross-disciplinary areas of business with other areas are also encouraged

    Non-Academic Personnel/Researchers: This conference is designed to offer non-academic professionals, i.e., non-academic researchers, corporate executives and managers, entrepreneurs, leaders of not-for-profit organizations, and the like an opportunity to increase their awareness about the world of business and leadership. This conference will provide a unique opportunity for these participants to network with peers and other professionals.

    Graduate Students: The conference welcomes participation of graduate students as session presenters, reviewers, or attendees. Graduate students in any related discipline will find the conference very stimulating and enlightening.

    Conference Registration

    Conference registration fee is $195.00.

    The registration fee for Students is $95.00.

    Types of Submissions

    Research Papers: Completed research papers in any of the topic areas listed above.

    Student Papers: Research done by students in any of the topic areas listed above or related areas.

    Case Studies: Case studies in any of the topic areas listed above or related areas.

    Work-in-Progress or Proposals for Future Research: Incomplete research or ideas for future research in order to generate discussion and feedback in any of the topic areas listed above or related areas.

    Reports on Issues Related to Teaching: Reports related to innovative instruction techniques or research related to teaching in any of the topic areas listed above, or related areas.
